After delivery
Motherhood is a blessing. Giving life to another being in one's womb is an indescribable feeling. Giving birth to a child is like taking another birth. During this nine-month-long journey, each will offer advice on what they have learned from their experiences. But more than the problems faced from conception to delivery, many types of problems come to the fore after the birth of the child. It is at this time that many physical and mental changes take place in a woman who has just become a mother. During the delivery time, women feel lethargic due to reasons like blood loss, stress and mental anxiety. Constipation, burning during urination, weight gain and hair loss are common among many. Motherhood can be fully experienced only if these changes are faced positively and effectively. In this story, let's fully understand about the difficulties, problems and their solutions after delivery.
Bleeding: Bleeding after delivery is normal.
Bleeding occurs up to three to four weeks after delivery. The rest of the wastes and impurities in the womb go out along with the blood. But in some the bleeding is profuse while in others it is normal. It then stops and resumes monthly after six months. In this order, the doctor's instructions should be followed to avoid the problem of anemia.
Hair loss: After delivery, hormonal imbalance and stress can cause excessive hair loss. After six months this condition usually changes. At this time it is good to eat protein rich food.
Stomach: Even after the baby comes out of the womb, some people have a high stomach. It will take some time to get back to normal. Stretch marks are also more likely to occur due to the stretching of the skin. A belt prescribed by doctors should be used to reduce the stomach. Constipation also occurs in many people after childbirth.
►It takes 6 to 8 weeks for the uterus to return to normal. At that time sometimes stomach pain occurs.
> Many changes occur in the body during pregnancy. After delivery, the bones fall back into place. Due to this, many people face back pain.
> In some people, the pelvic muscles are stretched and weakened. This causes leakage of urine when laughing, sneezing or coughing.
A mother's body undergoes hormonal fluctuations after childbirth. Oxytocin levels increase, estrogen and progesterone levels decrease, due to which some anxiety and irritability increase in them.
> Postpartum depression occurs in many women after the birth of a child. Troubled situations like insomnia problems, lack of support from people around, financial problems after child birth can lead to postpartum depression. Apathy, lack of motivation, lack of sleep, feelings of helplessness, lack of concentration, lack of appetite, weight loss, fatigue, and thoughts of death or suicide are seen in them.
It is imperative to take certain steps to avoid problems after delivery.
▸Nutrition : Nutrition plays a vital role in promoting physical and mental health. Nutrition helps tissue repair, replenishing essential nutrients lost during childbirth. Fresh fruits and vegetables should be part of the diet. Taking milk products improves the health of mother and child. Spices, preserved foods, processed food should be avoided
> Exercise : If you start proper exercise even after delivery, there is a chance to get fit again. But some women do exercises they like due to lack of awareness. This may cause various health problems. After delivery, the organs of the body become weak and sensitive. So it is better not to lift weights and do fast things. Also walking is good for getting fit after the baby is born. But when should exercise be started after delivery? How long to do any exercise should be decided only after consulting the doctor.
Pills: Many people stop taking iron and calcium pills after delivery. Doctors suggest that these medicines must be used for three months even after delivery.
▸ Sex : It takes some time for women to normalize after childbirth. So if they engage in sex within a few days after delivery, it will have a negative impact on their physical and mental health. Experts say to abstain from sex for 6 weeks after the birth of the baby. Also, contraceptives should be used strictly during this time.
> Vaginal health: In normal delivery, part of the vagina is cut. So it is very important to stay clean after delivery. The vagina should be thoroughly cleaned after urination. Otherwise the bacteria will start to grow. Drink as much liquid as possible.
